I started the HEC Paris EMBA as European sales director for major accounts at HP, after a 12-year journey through the world of IT that had started at Procter & Gamble. I ended the course as CEO of my own company, and manager of my own destiny.
The HEC Paris EMBA is a highly flexible program and was strongly recommended by people I trust. The one week a month Paris Modular track made it easy to schedule my business travel around the program. Since the participants came together for one week every month, we also built up an exceptionally strong team spirit that still lasts today.
I was hoping that the EMBA would give me the skills to take on positions of strategic management within the HP hierarchy. The teaching was of the highest quality, but what surprised me the most was the added value that other participants bring. Their different perspectives opened my eyes to new ways of thinking, and the strength of the HEC Alumni network ensures that the HEC experience continues after the program.
The EMBA course is not an end: it’s really only a beginning."
I also had the opportunity to take the “Entrepreneurship & Innovation” Major at Babson College. When we came back, everyone was inspired to start their own business. What I hadn’t expected was that I’d be one of them: Babson was the spark that led me to create my own business, and so no candidate should expect to be the same when they finish the course as they were when they began.
It was my classmates who opened my eyes to where my real passion lay and encouraged me to turn it into a business, and five years later, my company, “Ideas on Stage”, is the European leader in its domain. Furthermore, as we help entrepreneurs and business leaders to deliver brilliant presentations, I am able to help them as much with the business aspects as the communication itself, thanks to what I learnt at HEC Paris.
